HOW TO MAKE GREAT COVERS FOR YOUR EBOOKS
They say you don’t judge a book by its cover, but in the world of publications you certainly do.
Think about the last time you visited a bookstore. Unless you went there to purchase a specific book and were totally focused on that, you would have been attraced by certain covers.
Research has shown that people send a few seconds on the front cover, then they turn the book around and spend a few longer seconds on the back cover. If the front cover says “Pick me up” and the back covers says “Buy me”, it is likely you will do exactly that.
In the world of digital books, there is no back cover so your description fills that gap. It is your advertising copy and you must take great care in crafting it.
A good advice is to focus on around 70 words and capture the essence of your book.
The cover must be very attractive and that is not easy for amateurs so I recommend you hire a graphic artist for the job. I generally use www.getclive.com for all my work. He is very reasonable and very professional.
Sometimes though, you just want to make a cover quickly without cost and there is a very useful Warrior Special that helps you make really nice covers.
It’s called Instant Kindle Cover and 3-D eBook Cover Creator and offers very nice templates to build book covers. Follow this link to take a look.

The importance of a good cover
You don’t judge a book by its cover, but you definitely sell books by their cover. This is your greatest advert and care should be taken to produce a really stunning cover. Hire a good graphic artist and use some great software.
This is one of the areas I struggled with until I found this super programme called ECOVER CREATOR for making instant covers in 30 seconds with my own artwork and photographs. Well worth purchasing.
This software is also excellent for making small images of your books for advertising purposes on your web pages and blogs.
